Michigan updates

Hello everyone!!

The girls had great birthdays, although they haven't had their "friend" parties yet due to scheduling conflicts (Rachel will have her friends over this coming Friday night-9 friends...can you say chaos?!) Nicole wants a beach party, so hers has to wait until late June for warmer weather. Nicole's big gift was a 26" 21-speed Schwinn, so now she can keep up with the rest of us, which we are all enjoying. Rachel is now an official teenager complete with her own snazzy cell phone (most of her friends had phones 2 years ago, so she thinks she's paid her dues..haha)of course this now means she can text and take pictures and video and listen to music...oh yeah, she can also talk on it. To say the least she was very excited about it. Of course, since we were changing our phone plan I also "qualified" to update my phone for all the same "discounts" and rebates that she qualified for, so I now have a new snazzy phone that does all those things too (I have the same phone # 269-598-6139, Rachel's new # is 269-547-7374).

We had a good weekend. On Sunday we were in Janesville for my cousin Nancy's son Aaron's graduation party from the UW. It was very fun seeing family. My Aunt Helen (my mom's youngest sister, now 85) was there and 3 of my siblings came too. Barbara and her daughter Lindsay (Lindsay just finished up her first year at KU) came from KS, Cathy and Russ from IA and Andy and his family from MN. So it was much fun! The girls were thrilled to be able to hang out with their cousins. We got home after 11 p.m. so it was a little tough to get going this morning.

I've got tennis this afternoon, I'm looking forward to it and being able to run off some of the extra calories from the weekend. You should see how slim and trim Dave is, I think he's at his thinnest that I've ever seen him, he's been working out pretty religiously 2-3 times a week, he looks good.

Dave did get good news that he won't be laid off during the 7 weeks that most of the plant workers are being laid off because his project for Mack Truck still needs to continue moving forward. So we are very relieved.

I'm still working 3-5 days/nights a week between Kohls and subbing, so that has remained fairly steady.

Not much else to report. Looking forward to Marv and Kitty coming for the girls' dance recital in June and then seeing all of you in Door County. Take care. Have a great week. Oh yes, I am on facebook now...are you Paula? So if anyone wants to be my "friend" send me a request:-)

Love, Donna
