short story

Hi Family,

My brother had someone email this to him and he shared it on our blog. I thought it was so good I wanted to share it with you all.

Who Started This Christmas Stuff?

A woman was out Christmas shopping with her two children. After many hours of looking at row after row of toys and everything else imaginable; and after hours of hearing both her children asking for everything they saw on those many shelves, she finally made it to the elevator with her two kids. She was feeling what so many of us feel during the holiday season time of the year - overwhelming pressure to go to every party, every housewarming, taste all the holiday food and treats, getting that perfect gift for every single person on our shopping list, making sure we don't forget anyone on our card list, and the pressure of making sure we respond to everyone who sent us a card. Finally the elevator doors opened, and there was already a crowd in the car. She pushed her way into the car and dragged her two kids in with her and all the bags of stuff. When the doors closed, she couldn't take it anymore and she stated, "Whoever started this whole Christmas thing should be found, strung up and shot." From the back of the car, everyone heard a quiet, calm voice respond, "Don't worry, we already crucified Him." For the rest of the trip down in the elevator, it was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop.

This year, don't forget to keep "the One who started this whole Christmas thing" in your every thought, deed, purchase and words. If we all did it, just think of how different this whole world would be.

Remembering the reason for the season

Hi from Donna

Good to hear the last postings. Really enjoyed the pictures Hannah. Your memory is correct I do like lighthouses and am honored to know you thought of me when you were visiting the lighthouses on your trip.

We got lots of snow last night, was hoping for a "snow day" but didn't have one, so it was off to Nicole's school to sub for the 3rd day this week for the librarian who is out sick. I was also scheduled at Kohl's Mon & Wed 9:30 pm - 6 am, so that makes finding time for sleep a bit more challenging. I'll definately be sleeping in during the day Thursday.

We finally went and picked out our Christmas tree Sunday. It's very nicely shaped and the girls and Dave did a great job decorating it after I got the lights on it. Overall our decorating has been slow in getting done, not enough hours in the day for all we have going on.

The girls are singing in the Christmas Eve program at church again this year. We are looking forward to seeing the Weber siblings & families soon. It'll be great to see all. I need to run now, will write more later.
Love,
Donna

Well, I appear to be a bit behind, so a picture is worth a thousand words, right? Here are 5,000 words and more...

One of our planned events as a group in Ireland was an evening of crazy bowling at the alley in the town just to the north of us. My hair started out standing vertical, but unfortunately it didn't last to the end of the evening, perhaps I messed up my hair when I scored my only strike of the evening...I ran and slid on my stomach, releasing the bowling ball with outstreached arms and all 10 pins went down! (No bumpers, either!)
This is my friend Nicole and I at the top of Hook Lighthouse along the southern coast. It was very cold and very windy that day, especially at the top! Good thing I went prepared with 3 additional sweatshirts on this trip, but I did have to sacrifice my jacket. Wonder of wonders, it no longer fit over all of my layers...

The girls I am with in this picture are Rachel and Katie. I am assuming this is one of the ruined castles we visited, but I don't remember. They all run together to a certain extent and I did not label my pictures very well, I guess.

This is Hook Lighthouse. If I remember, Donna is the lighthouse fan? If not, well then I don't know what I was associating lighthouses with, but anyways, I thought of you when I was there, Donna ;)

Aaaaaand...last one. Blogger only allows 5 picture uploads at a time. But, for my birthday, the 2 girls in the picture (Melissa and Chelsea, as well as Christy behind the camera) took me down to Dublin for the day. We walked around, ate our packed lunches, and did some shopping. At one point during the day we stopped to listen to some street musicians. (String quartet with a very lively fiddler!) and before I knew what was happening, I was being pushed forward and the musicians, who had been clued in by Chelsea, played me happy birthday. It was one of the most exciting happy birthday songs I've received to say the least! And to end the day and top it all off, the girls bought me Burger King and flowers and let me wear my crown all night long!
The whole rest of the trip was fantastic, save the 40 hours I was awake by the time I got to Appleton (mosly my own fault...oops...welcome to college) but it was good to see mom and I slept for 14 hours straight through the night!
Now these days after having resumed life in Wisconsin, I spend my days relieving mom of her Christmas goody baking while she's at school! I wake up and find a recipe on the counter with butter out to soften! And other than the cleaning and unpacking, I think it has been the most relaxing 3 weeks or so I've ever experienced...I'm almost ready to go back to school, but I better be careful what I say! January 5th will be here before I know it!
Wow, I had been behind in posing, so I was going to toss up just a small update but that ended up being quite long! Sorry! Hope the pictures were enjoyable. It seems the rest of you are doing well...always good to hear! Well, I wish I could share more, but as wonderful as blogger communication is, it is slightly limited. I can't wait to see you all!

Life is Good !!

Good Sunday Morning,

Guess it's time for me to write a LONG blog. Hope I don't bore you with stuff we're doing here.

I just got home from chruch, and Grandpa just got home from helping the Tennis Club with highway trash pickup. I asked him if he found anything interesting and he said yes, a Rolex watch. The interesting thing is that one of the crew had lost it earlier. How lucky is that?

Last night we had 2 couples for dinner. After dinner we played Mexican Train Dominos. After being invited out for 2 nice dinners at Thanksgiving, it's pay back time.

Friday night we went to Tubac, a quaint artsy town 20 miles south of here. They have tons of luminary lights. It is really neat to see. Then all the shops have goodies. Tubac is a place where you go, for the most part, to admire everyone's work but don't buy much because it is out of our price range.

Tuesday night I went to the Christmas Symphony with a friend. Grandpa was glad a friend asked me to go with her. That way he was off the hook and he could go and play sheepshead. He enjoys his card night!!

Last Saturday night we went to see the movie Australia. It was good, and long.

Gary, your Christmas tree sounds great. Our decorating amounts to putting garland and lights on the TV cabinet, putting a 2 ft. tree on a table, and I bought a bundle of fresh greens to put in a vase. We also put lights on the carport and a wreath on the front door. I miss not putting up my big tree with a ZILLION ornaments! I don't think many people have big trees here because the houses are small. A lot do decorate outside though.

Now, I know you don't want to hear this, but the weather here has been good. This is the 6th warmest fall on record, 13 degrees above normal. They call for some days in the high 60's this week, but it has been in the 70's everyday. Actually, it's cloudy today, the 2nd cloudy day since we got here. It's amazing to me how it can be 40 degrees when we get up and by 9:30 we can be on the tennis court in shorts and a tee shirt. It may only be in the low 50's, but with the sun, it feels wonderful. Anyway, I'm so thankful we're able to be here in the warmer weather.

So, life IS good here. We miss you all a lot and hope you all stay healthy. (Or, get back to being healthy)

Love and Hugs,
Grandma

A Belated Happy Thanksgiving from Appleton

I hope all of you are winding down from a good Thanksgiving weekend. We are going through post-Packer depression with the forecast of 3-5 inches of snow. I guess the good news is that we bought a new snow blower this afternoon, so that should help a little. And, it has an electric start, so I will never have to use it! Um, ah, well, maybe I won't have to start from scratch at 8 PM as often as I used to.

Paula, Lydia and Jessica have all been sick the last few days. Paula lost her voice, but she is doing better today. Her voice is back just in time for school, even if I have been ordered to pray for a snow day tomorrow :)

Yesterday I took Lydia to the Kids Museum downtown for a few hours. It was pretty cool, and in two hours I think we only saw about half of it. My favorite part was the fire truck. Lydia put on boots, a hat and a coat and drove for awhile. If I had only brought the camera......

Hannah has been putting her room downstairs back together, and getting a lot of rest. It was good for her to get a chance to see her friends this weekend. She is going to Taylor for a few days late in the coming week. In particular, she is going to the Silent Night basketball game. It is a tradition where the students are silent until the Taylor team reaches a certain score, and then they go nuts for the rest of the game. Hopefully she can fill us all in on the rest of the details in a week.

We put our Christmas tree up in 7 minutes. I love this new tree we bought last year. It has 4 sections plus the stand. Just stack them together and plug it in. Paula and I did some shopping at Target and Shopko on Friday night. No waiting in line at either store. Paula and Hannah did a little more shopping yesterday afternoon, too.

Daniel is still working. He was supposed to be off last week, but somebody else didn't show on Monday so he got called to work for the week. He will go back up by Eagle River to work for a few more weeks, and then they have 2 houses back here. He is pretty happy that they have work on the horizon. He was not nearly as optimistic a few weeks ago.

Love to all of you,
Gary

Hello from Homen!

Well, Rob informed me it's my turn to send a lengthy blog so here's an update on us:

We had a nice Thanksgiving here w/ Rob's parents. We went to a nearby supper club for a great buffet!

Fri. Claire had her 15 mo. checkup. She weighs 17# 11oz., which puts her at just under the third percentile and she's at the 5th for heigth. As the nurse said, "she's a peanut!" Despite this, she is healthy and developing well. She asked is she was good natured....I said yes, although she is developing her own opinions at times. She asked if she was having "fits" and said about 2-3 good ones a day was typical; Claire might fuss if she can't have something she wants but it's very minor and doesn't last long. The nurse said most kids cry or carry on throughout the exam; Claire smiled at her the entire time and didn't fuss once. So, she is VERY GOOD NATURED indeed:) She wasn't concerned w/ her size/weight but did think she was slightly delayed in her speech. Again, she wasn't concerned but said she'd monitor that at the next visit (18 mo.)

School is going pretty well; no bomb threats:) Rob continues to work 36 hr. weeks.

I'm slowly adjusting to my sleep apnea machine. Some nights, if I get up to go to the bathroom, I go back to sleep without putting the face mask back on. It's kinda a pain, especially since I sleep on my side but this is the second mask I've tried and it's MUCH better to breath with than the first. I had one recheck and the dr. said it can take up to 6 months to fully get used to it and benefit fully from the machine. She could see, however, that with use of the second mask, I was sleeping better; less disturbed. All in all, I guess I feel somewhat better during the day and am confident it will continue to improve as I get used to wearing it and do so 100% of the time.

Sami had a bought w/ bad allergies and was in to the vet. As result, she is on prednisone and a cream for her ears which were pretty sore from scratching. She's on the mend and doing remarkablly well for pushing 13 (she has her 13th bday next Wed; no cards required:) She'll get lots of treats and a special supper of something in a can.

Well, hope all is well with everyone else. I'm sure you're all busy getting ready for the holidays as we are. The tree is up but not decorated yet. Claire hasn't given it much attention but I'm sure the lights and ornaments will dazzle her the first time she sees them.

Well, I think I hear her awake from her nap.

Take care....

Love,

Sue, Rob, Claire, and Sami!

GREETINGS FROM ARIZONA

Well, what a joy to read the two new posts!!

Things are good here. Dad (and me) was happy that we were able to watch the Badger and Packer games this weekend. Yesterday we had high winds here so it was a good day to watch football. The bad thing about the winds is that it is dusty. You could just see the dust hanging in front of the mountains. Last night was the Tennis Club Pot Luck, the first of MANY pot lucks. Dad's team was in charge, so we went early to set up etc. Saturday night we went to see the movie Changeling. Boy, that was an eyeopener. It was based on a ture story that took place in the late 20's. About a single Mom whose 8 yr. old son disappeared, her struggle to find him, and the corrupt L.A. police department. It was a little disturbing, but a good movie.

Most of our friends are back here for the winter. Two more couples with arrive next week. We both play tennis almost every day. I had my first competitive match on Friday. We lost 7-5, 6-2. Just couldn't pull it out, but it was fun anyway.

Jessica, have a Happy Birthday. Send a picture of Lydia if you get a chance.

Donna, you REALLY did have a busy week. I know how the holidays are in retail!! I sure do miss not having a Kohl's store 1/2 mile away.

More later.....

Love to All,
Grandma

From the Appleton Weber's

Hello all,

Ah yes Donna, it has been a LONG time since I have blogged. That is in part because my husband keeps telling me he is going to log on and blog!! Well, we will stop waiting for him and I will try to catch you up.

As you can imagine, this fall has been full of lots of changes. Preschool has been going well all in all. I have some very challenging children but I guess that's just part of it. It took me longer than I thought it would to get back in the routine. I do miss seeing my little Lydia all the time. There also was not a lot in place as far as curriculum and learning/activity centers. So I have been working hard to put many new things in place (usually at night). I am doing a lot of "first year" stuff so next year should go better as far as that is concerned. I had to drop my class for Nov. because I would have missed two out of four classes with mandatory school functions: conferences and the Christmas program that both fell on school nights. I am back to looking for something online only now I am going to wait until after the Holidays. All that being said, I do enjoy my job a lot and the people I work with are fun too! This week we have a huge Grandparent's Day Celebration at school. All the kids perform.......I keep telling my kids that no one wants to hear me sing so I am praying that they sing their little songs the way I know they can! Then a week later is the Christmas program and in between are conferences then I will breath a big sigh!

Gary and I went to see the Soweto Gospel Choir at the PAC a week or two ago. It was fabulous! I was very glad and surprised that Gary took me. The tap dancer you were talking about Donna was at the PAC last year and Hannah wanted to go so bad but for some reason we couldn't, can't remember why but if he comes again, I'll make Gary take me!

It is birthday time around our house so last week we had bday dinner for Daniel, tomorrow Jessica and her family will come for something simple and then when Hannah comes home I said I would make potato dumplings for them all ~ that is a West family favorite, it takes most of the day for that meal but I haven't done that for a while.

Gary leaves on Sunday for England and Hannah comes home on Tuesday. Pretty soon I will have my whole family in the same country! We are ALL getting excited for Hannah to come home.

This past weekend I went with Peggy and Amy to the Mall of America. We had a great time getting away together. We probably won't go there again for a while. It was very nice, just not the place for power shopping!! It was hard to see the snow all weekend! I was not mentally prepared for that shift in weather after 72 degrees a couple of days prior.

Some of you know that my dad had to do a round of chemo for the luekemia that he has had for years. So far it looks like the results are good and he responded well to the treatment. He only had to go for four rounds out of a possible eight. Tomorrow he has a blood test and they will determine if he has to do four rounds again or just go on maintainence which would be once every other month for the rest of his life. It was a little hard for all of us cuz we just don't want to think about the parents getting old. We have been so blessed with health in our families (West and Weber) and I am really grateful for that. Count your blessings!!

Congratulations to Claire on her new mobility, Rachel and Nicole, sounds like you are both working hard on all your activities!

Donna, don't work so hard!!

We'll see many of you before we know it!!

Love and Hugs,
Paula

Hi from Michigan

Greetings from the chilly Midwest. We have been so spoiled by the wonderful fall weather that now it feels REALLY cold, but it is November after all and should be cold.

Friday night we attended a phenomenal dance performance by Savion Glover (an incredibly gifted tap dancer who was mentored by Gregory Hines. If you've never seen his work you should check him out on u-tube. He also did all the dancing for the animated movie "Happy Feet"). The whole 90 minute performance was performed acappella by Glover and 2 other gentlemen with only their tapping creating the music...and did they ever create music, it was unbelievable the ease and stamina they posessed and with which they executed such unbelievably complex routines and rhythms. (Dave wondered how they could move both feet at the same time like that and still remain upright). The girls LOVED it, Rachel especially given her aptitude for tap.

Sat. Dave and I divided and conquered, with me taking Rachel to the Holiday Parade where she participated with her dance troop. I got to walk the route with them and hand out fliers for the studio, kept us warm. All the girls seemed to be having fun.

Dave took Nicole to her travel basketball game, it was their first defeat (which was probably a good wakeup call for the girls since they have dominated all their games so far this season and should inspire them to work harder). Nicole was the top scorer of her team with 6 points, so individually she did well.

I worked a crazy number of hours last week between subbing and Kohls (60 hours) hey!..I thought this was suppose to be part-time employment. Actually it was my own fault, I have a hard time saying no...need to work on that.

Dave's gone til Tues. night checking out things for a new line of work they will be adding. So I made sure I wasn't working until Wed.

Bet everyone is anxious to see Hannah upon her return. Too bad things didn't coordinate better for Gary and her to be able to connect overseas. We are looking forward to seeing you all over Christmas and of course to see all the changes to Clare and Lydia.

Hey Paula, haven't seen any posts from you in a LONG time, how's teaching going! How was the girls' shopping outing to MN? Bet you had a ball!!

Lots of Love,
Donna

Safe Arrival

Hi Family,

We arrived here last night about 6:30. (We gained 2 hours.) We had a good trip, except for the fact that we both got the stomach flu. Dad felt achey etc. on Monday, then when we got to Liberal, KS for the night, he got out of the car and it was cold. He couldn't stop shivering and just crawled in bed. I went to a little cafe for something to eat and no more than got back and I was sick too. Yesterday he felt better but I slept almost all day. Today we're back to normal.

We had a nice visit with Sue, Rob and Claire. Claire is a cutie!!

Our townhouse here was in good shape. We were glad NOT to find water stains on the ceiling. I heard they had a lot of rain here this summer. Now it's just unpacking and cleaning.

Hannah, I hope you enjoy your last weeks in Ireland. Have a safe trip home!

I will call soon.

Love to all,
Grandma

Really Happy

I was happy to be able to enter a quilt in the quilt show, now I'm REALLY happy because it won 2nd place! Hannah, what did it was the color combination you picked out. I think it was an eye catcher. Paula and I had fun going to the show and viewing all the beautiful quilts.

Love,
Grandma

Beautiful Fall Weekend

What a beautiful Fall weekend we had here! Sunday afternoon we hit a local orchard/pumpkin farm/corn maze. It was a fun time. The maze was cool, the areal view showed it was a WWII fighter plane. The maze was sponsored by the Kalamazoo Air Zoo (air museum), so it had questions regarding the air museum and WWII (which I did well on).

Nicole had her first travel basketball game Sat. and they dominated winning 30-12. Nicole made a couple baskets and played a good aggressive game. It was fun to see how tough the girls are already playing this year compared to their first games last year, they really do build on their skills every year.

Friday night Dave took Rachel to the high school football game, Portage Central has been playing well this year and should make the playoffs. Maybe Nicole & I'll make it to one of those games if that happens.

I was thinking ahead to Thanksgiving. I think last year was a Weber Thanksgiving, so this year we will be planning to spend Thanksgiving with my family. Thinking ahead to Christmas, are there any plans yet? Do we know when we want to get together and where? If everyone doesn't mind traveling you are certainly welcome to come this direction, otherwise you know we are always willing to travel back to WI. We need to be in MI for Christmas Eve because the girls are part of the Christmas Eve service at church. And Nicole may be in a basketball tournament Dec. 20/21. So given that, what do the rest of your schedules look like and what would you like to do?

Bye for now!
Donna

Hi Hi

Thanks for the blog Donna. Sounds like you are all busy, but I'm happy that everyone is doing well. Nicole, congratulations for being elected to the student council.

My neck/shoulders are some better but I'm still doing the chiropractor treatments. Grandpa's tennis coaching season has ended. He has been working with Habitat Decon a couple of days a week. Also, he's been busy with getting the garden and yard ready for the winter.

This weekend I'm entering the quilt I make for Hannah in the quilt show. It's kind of exciting for me. For many years I wanted to enter something in the State Fair but really never had the opportunity. So, this is neat!

Hope to hear from all of you soon. This is a great way to stay in touch :-)

Love and Hugs,
Grandma

Michigan Webers Checking In

Hi Everyone!

Sorry it's been a while since we've written. Dave thanks everyone for the birthday well wishes. He had a fairly mellow celebration. I made a nice dinner and then we were off and running for the evenings activities, fortunately everything wrapped up early and we were able to regroup and have cake and ice cream. I finally got a Badger photo poster framed that Dave purchased over a year ago. It was a weird frame size 13 1/2" X 40", but I found an on-line company that carried it, so that worked out well...should have done that a year ago I guess (oh well, better late than never).

Hannah, we were so happy to see the wonderful Ireland pictures (thanks Daniel for downloading them to the blog) and hear how well all is going, what an exciting time for you. Glad you are making the most of it.

Cute video of Lydia, Jessica, too fun! What size is she wearing now? Also Sue...what size is Clare wearing?

For those of you who don't know, I'm now working part-time, subbing 1-2 days a week in the Portage Elem. Schools (mostly P.E. & in the Libraries) and 2-3 nights at Kohls, my favorite store (3rd shift 9:30 p.m.til 6 a.m. - finally my "night owl" habits are good for something..ha). It's been going pretty well and I've been able to catch up on the lost sleep during the daytime hours. The only rough times have been when my subbing schedule falls on the same day as I'm working nights. That's only happened twice so far. But when it does it makes for a LONG day.

So glad to hear that your doctor has figured out things for you Sue regarding the sleep apnea. Hopefully it'll help get everything else back on track now that you know what you are dealing with.

The girls are doing great. Rachel got braces this summer and has been adjusting well to them, except she doesn't want to give up her gum chewing. She's continuing with her competitive dance, she has a great solo routine this year that we are excited about. And she has announced that next year she wants to keep her schedule open for more school activities and won't be competing in dance. Dave & I are glad she has come to that conclusion on her own as we too would like to see her try out for some school teams next year like volleyball and golf. Both she and Nicole are doing well in classes and are busy with dance lessons and church youth groups. Rachel is continuing to play clarinet with the school band and Dave found a good deal on Craig's List for a used instrument (we've been renting for over a year now) so we were able to get a practically new clarinet (used 1 year) for a barain price.

Nicole continues playing piano and is looking forward to precussion next year...so we'll be looking for used drums next...yikes! Nicole is finishing up her soccer season and has made the travel basketball team again and will have her first b-ball game Sat. She just had a 3 day/2 night camping trip with her entire 5th grade class to a great Y camp nearby. Great time had by all. Good team-building experience. She was just elected to her class Student Council, so she's very excited about that. She had also recently tried out for a role in Willy Wonka being performed at the Civic Theatre. It was a big deal, over 150 kids, ages 9-18 tried out for a possible 14 youth parts. She did get a callback which was good for her first time out, but wasn't casted. She was disappointed, but had she made it she would have had to suspend all her other activities until after Christmas, so Dave & I were actually a bit relieved she didn't get a role, it would have been a HUGE time commitment for us all.

We traveled to WI this past weekend for the Badger/Penn State game. It was a crummy game, but a beautiful weekend. We really enjoyed the drive and the Fall color. We also had the chance to tailgate with a group of our Madison/Milwaukee friends some of whom we haven't seen for 1-2 years, so that was great fun. We spent the night at my friends Kate & David's who had just returned that day from a week's vacation in D.C. then on Sunday we drove to Milwaukee to rendevous with my old roommate from my Madison days, Bonnie, who lives in Salt Lake City, UT. She has been battling liver cancer for a year now and is holding her own. Her hair is growing back and she's regaining her energy now that she's on some new Chemo treatment combined with accupuncture and other holistic diet, exercise and supplement treatments. It was so great seeing her and catching up. She said she really appreciates being on everyone's prayer lists and asks that we all continue as she really feels it all helps.

Well, I think that catches us up. Dave continues to have a job for which we are thankful and life here in Michigan continues to be good. You are all invited to visit...just warn me ahead of time or else you'll probably walk into a pretty messy house...one of the things I haven't quite fit into my new "working" schedule...tee..hee.

Love ya all! Donna & Gang

Sue the Snorer

Hi to all,

Well, I'll take Mom's lead and make a quick note to what's new w/ me medically speaking:

Last spring I saw a neurologist due to tingling/numbness in my left hand. I had during/after pregnancy and it was only getting worse so I was referred. She thought it was related to my WAY OUT OF WACK thyroid, which, one year after giving birth is finally back to normal (I was already taking medication). ANYWAY...... while talking to the Dr., she asked if I was tired and throughout her in-depth medical history, she decided to refer me for a sleep study (suspecting sleep apnea).

I've ALWAYS struggled with daytime sleepiness; no matter how much or little sleep I've had. She (the Dr.) also thought it odd that I have high blood pressure; I have no other typical indicators yet I've been on medication for two years. Anyway, she ordered a sleep study and after spending the night in a sleep lab with 15 electrodes on my body, it was detected I do in fact have sleep apnea.

I've used my "CPAP" machine for the last 3 nights and today, felt somewhat better: at 9a.m. I had only yawned about 5 times instead of my normal 25+ and I felt a new sense of "alertness" I have never felt. I'm not saying it's a night and day difference but I have to say I feel better. I've wondered about this condition for several years....even went to a free clinic talk on it one evening about 5 years ago. I'm SOOOO thankful that this dr. may have picked up, incidentally, something that's been a "silent struggle" for me for YEARS.

well, all for now.... time for me to "hook up to the machine:)"

Love,

Sue

"Reporting"

Hi Hi,

Just wanted to let you all know what's going on here. I don't know if Hannah and Jessica know that I had a car accident last Wednesday. I was going about 40 mph on Northland by Bluemound, going through a green light and an oncoming car failed to yield the right of way and made a left hand turn in front of me. I saw her coming but could not avoid hitting her. My front, right side was pretty well banged up. The air bags deployed and that ripped up the entire dash. It was all pretty scarey, but I'm just thankful that it wasn't worse. The car was totaled so we're driving a rental. I have been to the chiropractor 3 times so far. I had a whiplash and soft tissue damage. My neck and upper back ache. The problem with an injury like that is that the injury doesn't show up right away, and it doesn't heal fast. I will have to see the chir. 3 times a week until we leave for AZ.

Grandpa checked vans (to buy) on line and found a few to look at so today we went to Green Bay and Abrahms. We ended up buying a 2006 Chrysler, Town & Country. (imagine that!) We're back to a silver color, like our 2nd last one was. It's a beautiful van.

That's the update, time to ice my neck.

Love to all,
Grandma

From Gary and Paula

We arrived home from a long weekend vacation about 3:30 this afternoon. We went to Applefest in Bayfield, WI (by Apostle Islands) on Friday morning. Five of Paula's brothers and sisters and spouses (and Jasmine) were along to make it interesting. The festival is a bit like Octoberfest in Appleton, with lots of food, crafts and music to choose from. The added views of Lake Superior, Apostle Islands and boats were nice too. We had samplings of all things apples to eat. Apple brats, apple mustard, and apple dumplings were just a few things to go with gyros, and nearly anything on a stick (fish, pork chops, and one band even tried to sell CDs on a stick just for fun.

For fun, check out www.LazarArt.com to see some photos from an exhibitor in Bayfield (from Brookfield). I thought he had some outstanding photography from all around the country.

The weather was nice. Sunny and in 50's or low 60's. The fresh air, walking and standing made for relatively early retiring for bed and night. Yesterday we went to an orchard for a view of the lake from the hay loft in the barn, wine tasting, hay wagon ride through the orchard, etc. The orchard is in its 100th year and 5th generation of the same family. The champion apple picker is a woman in her 60's who at one point could pick 180 bushels in 8 hours. They said she tapes all of her fingers at the start of the day.

On the way back today we stopped and Copper Falls State Park near Mellon (maybe about 30 miles south of Ashland). It was beautiful. Mom and Dad, if you have not been there I would recommend it as a stop on your next trip to your Lake Superior shore fun in Minnesota. The circle hike to 3 different falls is only 1.7 miles, and there are other hikes and falls in the park in addition to the main route.

Love to all of you,
Gary

Hello from Ireland...

First of all, happy birthday Uncle Dave!

Hope all is well with the school year back in full swing.  I've been faced with a bit more work lately, but I've been getting things done one deadline at a time.  Fall break is coming up so I'll have a few days around the Y to rest up and get ready for the final bit of the semester before I come home for Thanksgiving.

I love it here in Greystones....it's a community about 20 miles south of Dublin.  Very quiet, about a 2 minute walk from the Irish sea.  There's a really good walking/running loop along the seacoast and then up around into the town that's quite enjoyable, but now that it's getting colder those walks have been a bit fewer and farther in  between.  I've been getting to go up into Dublin almost every weekend for coffee or shopping or whatnot.  I didn't go this weekend, but we just got DART passes for the month of October, so whenever we don't have class I'm free to go for a ride up along the line to other towns.  Yesterday I went with a few other people to a cinema about 30 or 35 minutes north along the dart line.  It's exciting to just be able to go out and explore other towns.  There are tons of quaint little cafes and such.

Well, hope everyone is doing well!  Hopefully I'll be up around the blog a bit more now that I've settled into a bit more of a routine.  Love you all!

Weber Christmas

Hi all!

Things are going well here. Claire has taken up to 6 steps so we're thinking she'll be walking soon!

VB season is almost over so soon I'll be able to come home right after work.

Claire has a minor cold right now (just got over one and a week later has another one) but other than that she is doing well:) She loves to laugh, make faces, and smile:)

Just wondering if anyone has thought about when/where we'll celebrate Christmas?

(just throwing the thought out there)

well, that's all for now folks!

Hope all is well....

Love,

Sue, Rob, Claire, and Sami (the old girl)

Great Weekend!

Gary, thank you for your kind words, and thanks to you and Paula for coming out and cheering (Paula) and supporting Wendy and I. I'm happy I was able to walk the half marathon. Wendy and I talked the entire 13.1 miles and that made the time go fast. Our official time was 3:18. (Everyone had a chip on their shoe to register the official time.) About 2 miles before the finish line, we were passed by 4 gals that were walking super fast. I told Wendy I wanted to keep up with them, and we did. Wendy said she was happy she could help me take one thing off my "buckey list!" I was tired last night, but felt fine this morning. Dad and I even biked to the tennis court and played tennis for 1-1/2 hours this morning.

Have a good week and hope to hear from you all soon.

Love to all,
Grandma

The Marathon

Congratulations MOM! I am proud of you. It was fun to see you and Wendy walk and talk and smile for 3+ hours today. To celebrate, I vote that you replace those 10 year old walking shoes!

For the rest of you, I think the time was 3:27, or 16 minutes a mile. The weather was very good, cool and cloudy at the beginning and then some sunshine as the morning wore on. Paula and I, and Don and Dad got to see them walking 4-5 times along the race course. Roughly speaking, it was from UW-Fox to Copps on Calumet to Jefferson Park in Menasha to Riverside Park in Neenah (jut across the river from Theda Clark Hospital). There were lots of cheerleaders from the high schools, high school bands, and even a guy at Jefferson Park giving out fig newtons for kisses (kisses were optional).

Again, way to go mom!

Happy Sunday !

Hello,

Well, the start to a new week. How was the first week of school for Jessica, Sue, Nicole, Rachel and Lydia? I was thinking about Lydia and wondering how she liked her new experience. Paula, I know you were in your 2nd week already, and that you're excited, and love your job!

It was so nice to hear from you Hannah. It sounds so beautiful there. What a great experience! We'll be waiting for more postings from you.

We went to the Badger football game yesterday and enjoyed the day. The weather was perfect. We went early and walked to the Farmer's Market. We didn't need much produce, but the muffin I had was good, and worth the walk. The Badgers ended up winning 51-14, but the score was 0-14 in the first quarter and we thought it would be a l o n g game.

Grandpa is playing tennis this morning with Tom (head coach at Chilton) and 2 of the Chilton players. The Xavier game that was scheduled last Thur. was rained out so this week they have 4 matches scheduled. I think it's a little hard for him so far because he doesn't know the girls, or their play that well. The varsity has a very good team and is doing well.

Most of you already know that I am planning to walk the half marathon (13.1 miles) two weeks from today. On Fri. I walked about 7 miles and plan to do 10 this week. Pray that my body holds together!!

Hope you all have a good week.

Love to All,
Grandma

The weekend is OVER

Sad to say, but its back to school and back to work. Along with school comes soccer and dance. 1st soccer game is on Friday. We had a great day at the beach on Friday. There was hardly anyone there! Rachel went back yesterday with one of her friends and said it was packed. I played golf yesterday, had fun and shot 84. Today we went for a 12 mile bike ride and had a picnic. Then went swimming at the neighbors. I did se the 2nd half of the Badger game this afternoon on Big Ten Network.

Glad to hear everyone is doing well. Congradulations dad on your new coaching job!

old dog...new trick!!

Needed something to do while I watch the US open and listen to the Brewers.

We had a good time in Door Co last week. The weather was great except that Mom was cold the first night. We got to the tennis court every day and I also got to play with the boys who live up there.

Last week when we were at the racquet club we saw a posting for a tennis coach for the Xavier girls jv's tennis team. I called the head coach and got hired over the phone. I already missed the first two weeks of the season. My first day was Thursday, and the season ends on Sept 30th. Practice is at the old FVL school, so it's an easy bike ride there. This looks like a real patience test. Out of eighteen girls about ten of them don't have a clue. I don't have a roster yet, but they thought it was pretty funny when they introduced themselves and about four or five are Elizabeth. Don't know if I'll be able to name them all by the 30th.

We are planning on going to the game next Sat. Hope it is cooler than today. I thought the Badgers were going to be on today, but the Ohio State game was on.

Brewer game is over and I'm out of here!!

Back in the Saddle Again!

Hi family, Gary is in the kitchen chopping jalapenos for salsa. I cut my thumb pretty good and honestly can't do it myself ~~ really. Lots of news on both of my blogs, I'll try to catch you up here.

Preschool started this past Wednesday for me. It has been an awesome week! I have 17 new friends on MWF and 15 new friends on TTH. Anywhere from 6 to 10 of them stay for aftercare. Wed. was the first day and I have never had a first day go so well. Class starts at 8 and at 8:03 every parent was out of the room, the door was shut and we were on our way!! ZERO separation anxiety! I guess the preschool meet and greet worked! I am absolutely loving it. So far I have been called: Mizz Webz, Mrs Webster, Miss Web, many say Mrs. Weber and of course there are always the ones who think my name is teacher, teacher. Marv, I have one little girl who has given me a puppet show three days in a row! I do have a picture but I think I left it at school.

Anyway, enough about me.........Sue, the next time your daughter is admitted to the hospital, you should call us!! There might not be anything we can do but we can certainly pray for her and you two also!! I am glad to know she is doing well now.

Dave and Donna, congratulations on 15 years! I had it on my calendar to send you a card but the last two weeks have been crazy, I apologize. 15 years should have netted a pretty nice gift though :-)

We talked to Hannah last weekend and today I got to talk to her on skype. I got to see her too but the video wasn't going too good so we just used audio. (darn, I wanted to see if she was keeping her room clean!) I was able to "meet" one of her roommates before she turned off video so that was cool and then occasionally she chimed in in the background telling me how crazy Hannah is! HA!

I hope everyone has a great holiday weekend. Gary and I plan to work around the house (there is much that needs doing), sleep in, go for a bike ride, get together with friends, stuff like that.
Good luck to Sue, Jessica, Rachel and Nicole next week!!!

Love and Hugs,
Paula

Hi from Holmen

Howdy!

Well, it's back to the work world for Sue. (I know you all feel sorry for me....)

Last weekend we were in Eagle River for my 19th year of "camping" with my college friends. We stay at a house on the lake. Claire caught a cold and we planned to take her into the walk in on Sun. when we got home, thinking she had developed an ear infection. Well, we made it about 30 miles on Sun. a.m. when she had a croup attack. Luckily, we were on the outskirts of Rhinelander and I remembered passing a hospital on the way there. She was admitted and given breathing treatments. 24 hours later, we were on our merry way back home. She did have a double ear infection.

Today, she had her one year check up. She weighs 16# 4 oz. That puts her just under the 3rd percentile for weight and she's the 10th in heighth. Dr. put her on a steroid to help her "croupy" leftovers.....All in all, she is doing great!!! She's turning more blonde and is gaining quite a little personality....lots of expressions, giggling, smiles, babbling..... She's not walking yet but I don't think it's too far off. She stood for about 5 seconds alone today and stood up from sitting practically all on her own. The day we left the hospital, she was practically running down the hall grasping my fingers.

I'm back to school, which is good in a way but of course I'd rather be home if I could.

Other than that, not much is new....caring for the garden, hoping the Brewers and Packers do well, and wishing my golf league was longer!!!! (bowling starts Tues!) I'll be playing kick ball WEds. and Rob will cheer and watch Claire. Started coaching VB Th. So, needless to say....life will be busier from here on out.

Hope all is well w/ everyone.....

Hannah, I had a "jaunty cart" ride through the Gap of Dunlow with an old man who looked like he came out of an Irish Spring commercial.....that was one of my highlights in Ireland.....
THinking of you and hoping all is well......

Love,

Sue, Rob, and Claire:)

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY !

Happy Anniversary to Dave and Donna! I'm sorry that I did not get a card off.

Have a great day at the Sand Dunes on Friday.

Love,
Grandma

Hi from Michigan

Hannah, reading your entry makes me want to hop a plane to Ireland. What a wonderful adventure! My good friends Kate & David from Madison went there last Fall to many of the places you described and said it was their best vacation to date.

We are gearing up for back to school. The girls aren't too excited to head back except to see their friends. We are heading to the Dunes on Lake Michigan, south of St. Joseph, Friday to meet my friend Jewel from Madison & her daughter who is a year older than Rachel. Dave took the day off of work, so it'll be nice to go as a family.

Today we are celebrating 15 years of wedded bliss...where has the time gone? Seems like only yesterday we were being serenaded with a song with the word "love" in it by Kitty and Marv and dancing like maniacs at our wedding celebration.

I hosted Bunco Tuesday night, thank goodness for older daughters who can actually help out around the house (Rachel is able to mow the yard now, so that is a big help) or I'm not sure how I'd have pulled it all together in time (I had taken on making a special 3-layer lemon cake my sister Cathy recommended - used real 7 real lemons in each cake and I made two - it was a wonderful cake & quite the hit, but it was time consuming to make especially because I made 2 so I could be sure to have enough for the 15 women who attended and still have some left over for Dave & the girls. For prizes I had assorted jams from the Amish in Shipshewana (picked those up after we had lunch with Gary & Paula on their trip to take Hannah to school) and fresh vegies from our community garden (Yukon Gold potatoes, tomatoes, carrots & assorted peppers) everyone seemed to enjoy the food theme, so all in all it was a successful party. (I'm glad I only have to host once every 12 months though).

Dave's been busy at work, his boss was on vacation the last two weeks and so he was in charge. It sounds like they are going to be bringing a lot of new business on board in the next year, so that is encouraging.

Well, that's about all for now. Love to you all! Donna

Ah, rolling green...

Well, Ireland is so beautiful. I don't think I have ever seen grass so green. The past week I spent in Killarny, Ireland. We toured a very large house called the Muckross House the first day. It was built very extravagantly in the middle of the famine and spent 6 years preparing for a 2 day visit from Queen Victoria in the 1840's...the next day we visited the Queenstown port (Cohb according to the Irish folk) in county Cork...a site where countless Irish emigrated out of the country due to the famine. Quite a contrast in the feel of these 2 sites. We also visited Blarney Castle. I kissed the Blarney stone! So now I should have the gift of the gab? We'll see about that one... Every night, we've eaten dinner at various pubs in the town of Killarny--the fish and chips have been amazing! Wednesday we hiked 12 kilometers through the Gap of Dunloe which was invigorating and, like everything else, gorgeous! Thursday we went to inch beach where 12 or 13 people in the group decided to be foolish and swim in the frigid Atlantic! That didn't last too long. I stayed out of the ocean, but it didn't keep me dry because it rains so much! The rest of the afternoon was gorgous though! We drove around the Dingle Peninsula and grilled a late lunch on a pull off looking over the ocean! Friday we climbed over 600 steps built by monks estimated around the 5th century up to a monastic site at the top of Skellig Michael. Then today we drove over to Galway after getting to see the cliffs of Moher. So, I'm pretty exhausted after the week, but it's exciting...we are now living in apartments in Galway...I'm with 4 other girls and tonight we cook for ourselves! Miss everyone and hope all is well!

We're Off!

Hi Hi,

We're leaving early Sunday morning for camping at Peninsula State Park. We'll be back late Thursday afternoon. I'm brave and tenting for 4 nights instead of our usual 3. I'm praying for good weather!! Behrens and Shabows will be up there so that will be nice. We will have our cell phone along. Our number once again is: 202-2076.

Grandma Here

Hi Family,

We're back home after a great, l o n g weekend. Claire's birthday celebration was nice. For those of you that missed it, Claire eating her birthday cake was priceless. She squished the cake, frosting and ice cream through her fingers for almost 1 minute before she tasted it. Then her hands went for her hair and the plate went to the floor. Too cute!!

We biked 27 miles of the Elroy-Sparta trail on our way home yesterday. It was a little warm, but the tunnel we went through was cool and wet. (3/4 mile) That is a nice trail, the countryside is beautiful.

Hope you are all having a good week.

Love,
Grandma

Better Late than Never

I suppose it is time I get with the program!

Sue - sorry we were not able to make it to the party. I am sure everyone had a good time. Give Claire a hug and kiss form us.

We have had a busy weekend. Friday after work Donna, Rachel and I played golf and then watched the Olympics. Sat morning we picked Nicole up from her week at camp. She had lots of fun and says thanks for the emails. After getting Nicole, I power washed the outside of the house. Wow, what a difference. Maybe I won't wait 7 years to do it again. That took from noon till 7, then ate dinner, went for a walk and more Olympics. Rachel has enjoyed watching with me and Donna. We still have some work to get Nicole interested.

Well, I hope everyone as a good week.

Dave

To The Birthday Girl

Happy Birthday Kitty! Hope you have a terrific day! We hope to come see you tonight.

We have returned from dropping Hannah off. It was a bit hard I will admit. We have heard from her a couple of times briefly and she is doing well. She flies out of Chicago on Saturday.

Other wise nothing too much new here. The garden is starting to roll in at a faster pace than we can eat it! We are grateful for the produce and our friends and family have been grateful too. We have had more cucumbers than ever so we have had to give quite a few away cuz we just can't eat them fast enough. But, that is what gardens are for, sharing!

We look forward to Claire's birthday party on Saturday. We will miss you Dave and family.

Take care,
Paula

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Hi Hi

Congrats Jessica and Sam. How exciting. I will check the house out on the website.

Rachel, are you having fun being an only child?? Are you watching a lot of the Olympics? We are watching as much as possible, and enjoying every minute.

Later....

The calm before the storm...

Well, it is August and I will hopefully find out this week what grade I'm teaching. And then life will get busy. I'm taking a two credit grad class in Appleton Aug. 18-20, so life will be even busier then. And Sam and I just bought a house so we will start moving August 22. That's why I call today the calm before the storm. If you want to check out our new house go to coldwellhomes.com and search for 2609 S. Kernan. It's really cute and perfect for our little family!

I'm back from camp

Hi everyone I've been home from camp now for a week or so. I was relly happy that your letters and emails got to me in time. I really enjoyed reading them! Now Nicole is at camp so I'm an only child for a week. Other than that every thing will be the same. Well I got to go now.

Love lots,

Rachel

Hi - Hi

We got back from Grand Marais last night abut 9:30. We had a great time. There were 6 couples, and they are all really nice people. 3 of us (couples) camped in the camp ground where Carl & Marlys have their park model.
We either played or watched a lot of good tennis, went to the sidewalk sale, watched a great display of fireworks and other activities that they have for their Fisherman's Picnic. I only played in one tennis event and lost that, so that was the end of my tennis. My partner Carolyn and I had to go up against a mother-daughter team. The girl was about 14 or 15 and very good. We only won 5 games, but it was really fun. Grand Marais is on the Lake Superior Northshore and it's beautiful. We had beautiful weather, no rain until we were on our way home yesterday.

Rachel, let us know how camp was.

Hannah, thanks for the post!

Love to All,
Grandma

Where has 2008 gone?

Wow. Already it is August. It feels like just yesterday we were gathering at Sue's celebrating Christmas and watching a bit of Harry Potter! That wasn't just yesterday though, and so much has happened since then! It was terrific to see you all at my graduation party to share a little of what happened in my life in that time.

Well, even that wasn't just yesterday either. I've already started and ended my job at K-C, and now in a few short days I will be off to college! It came so fast and now there's a bit of a scramble to both start and finish getting ready! Good thing I got Paula here with me...she's fantastic! It's good to hear all the excitement as the Weber blog starts off! Hope camp is awesome, Rachel! If the rest of 2008 doesn't disappear on me I'll hopefully be able to share with you guys from Ireland!

Love you all!
-Hannah

Hello from Sweet William

Hi all, I hope this finds you all well today. I thought it was time to do a little catching up. Gary and I had a great week in Eagle River last week. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. Duane likes to say that when you are north of Hwy 29 you are in God's country and when you are north of Hwy 8 that's really God's country! Well, I don't know about that but it truly was some of God's beautiful creation, simply gorgeous up there. We saw lots of bald eagles and loons and deer, it was cool. We had a boat for the week so we explored the chain of lakes and did some tubing. We went on a few bike rides, Gary and Duane golfed, Amy and Jasmine and I shopped :-) we went to Paul Bunyuns for breakfast, I read a book and a half, we played several games of uecker and cribbage, Gary didn't even call work!!!! There was also fishing. Jessica and Lydia came up for two days and I have to say Grandpa's highlight of the week was taking Lydia fishing and seeing her catch three fish!!!!!

I have been excitedly getting ready for preschool. I have my classroom all ready except the bulletin boards. Marv made some marvelous props for my room that I am excited about. He'll have to come in some time and see the children put on a puppet show!! This is my last week of class for my first college class. Actually, I only have one assignment left and then I am done. I have really enjoyed the class. My next class starts Aug. 21. That will be an interesting day because it is the first full day I have to be at work and the day ends with a back to school family picnic/open house/parent meeting and then I go to class til 10:00! I am prepared for that, I just hope Gary knows I won't be fixing dinner that night!!!

Hannah leaves in a week and a half. The time went way too fast!! Hopefully the time she's away will go fast too. Speaking of fast, I can't believe Claire is almost a year old!! Wow, where did that time go?

The garden has started to produce. I canned 28 jars of green beans on Monday and picked more today. We've had cucumbers, they are really good, a couple of tomatoes, zucchini and some small carrots. Lydia loves the garden now that there is food in it! She eats green beans right out of the garden, she knows to break the end off, she even eats baby carrots and cherry tomatoes. Today she was over and she put her stuffed animals in a buggy and took them out to "check on the garden" it is so cute and grandpa loves it!

Sue, hope to hear from you and Rob and Claire. Donna, it was good chatting with you today!! Marv and Kitty, have an enjoyable time in MN. I didn't know you got the cell phone, glad to hear it.

I have to say it, I just can't stop myself. This blog has been way too female!! Come on guys!! I know it is new, so I give you some grace but let's hear from you too.

Love and hugs,
Paula

We had an enjoyable visit with Dave, Donna, Rachel and Nicole. Thanks again for everything.

Donna & Gang checking in

Hi everyone!

I'm signed in under Rachels e-mail...I accidently erased the e-mail with the blog's website address...oh well, that's what happens when you are computer-challenged..ha.

Grandma & Grandpa are here arrived today and were able to go to Nicole's last softball game for this season. They ended in a tie...good way to end. It was a pretty successful season overall. I'm happy to be through with my coaching responsibilites and don't foresee signing on as a head coach next year...of course I didn't this year either, and still ended up in that role.

We will post some vacation photos as soon I figure out how to do it. Don't worry Sue, we won't post all 1,100 of them...ok, maybe we went alittle overboard, but a digital camera will do that to a person. Had a wonderful trip, saw tons of animals and such beautiful scenery. Had fun camping too. Can't believe July is almost over, time does fly when 2 weeks of it is spent vacationing. I'll write more later. Hope all are doing well. Donna

Me Again

Hi All,

Just want to tell you about the nice day I had today. I met Bernie in Oshkosh and we went on to met Sis in Cedarburg. We did lots of talking and laughing. The only thing that went wrong is that I was stuck in a 1/2 hour traffic back up around Neenah, on my way to Oshkosh. Then when we got back to Bernie's car at the Outlook Mall in Oshkosh, she had a flat tire on her car. Well, thank goodness I found a nice GENTLEMAN to change it for her.

Gary and Paula, Bernie was telling me about a Falls, North of Eagle River that is really pretty. I think it's called Bond Falls. (It might be in Michigan)

Happy Friday!

Grandma

Where is Gary???

I was able for the first time in, well, forever, to come home from work early to surprise Paula. I was at one of the other sites this afternoon to do a finance training session for the IT folks, and made the executive decision to quit for the day at 3 PM. My car went to the florist (of all places), and then home. Yeah, I need to log in to my work email and check to see if anyone missed me in the last few hours, but its nice to be home early.

Dave and Donna, any chance to post pictures or notes from your vacation? Sue, pictures of your family (or just Claire)? Dad, how about an update on what you are up to these days?

We are starting to prepare for next week's vacation at a cottage in Eagle River. I can't wait, even if the forecast for Monday is only for 70 degrees.

Grandma Here!

Can you believe I'm the first one to post something?? (Besides Paula) And, I did it all by myself! Opened up the account etc.... This is soooo neat. Thank you Paula.

I did the Apple Creek bike trail today. It's 10 miles and took me 1 hour. On our way home from AZ this Spring, I vowed to ride the trail every day I had a chance. Well, this is the first time I did it. I was back at 9:40 before it got humid.

Tonight (5:30) I play a singles (Rec. League) match at Pierce Park. Dad will ride his bike over a little later and after the match we'll stay for the City Band Concert.

Happy Birthday, Paula

Love Ya,
Grandma

I believe I've got it!

Hey all, I think this might have actually worked! Now, I want to see blogs from everyone this week. Dave and Donna, you could tell us some highlights from your vacation!

We have had a little excitement in the Gary Weber household, we had a bit of flooding in our basement (Hannah's room) early Sat. morn. 2am to be exact. Long story short, the drain at the back corner of our yard overflowed during a short but intense storm and ended up coming in Hannah's window. All in all, it could have been much worse and we are grateful that damage might end up just being some carpet.

Gary and I go on vacation next Saturday, we are renting a cottage in Eagle River. We are looking forward to relaxing, reading, boating, fishing, golfing, shopping, eating, sleeping etc. etc.

Tonight Hannah is cooking Chicken Curry for us for dinner, she learned how to make it in Fiji. I can smell the curry as I type! (one difference, we didn't slaughter the chicken with our bare hands!)

Well, I hope to hear from you all often. Have a great day!

Love and hugs,
Paula

Weber Family Blog

Hi family, I am trying to set up a family blog. Hopefully I can get this to work and we can all keep in touch more often.
