Hello from Sweet William

Hi all, I hope this finds you all well today. I thought it was time to do a little catching up. Gary and I had a great week in Eagle River last week. It was very relaxing and enjoyable. Duane likes to say that when you are north of Hwy 29 you are in God's country and when you are north of Hwy 8 that's really God's country! Well, I don't know about that but it truly was some of God's beautiful creation, simply gorgeous up there. We saw lots of bald eagles and loons and deer, it was cool. We had a boat for the week so we explored the chain of lakes and did some tubing. We went on a few bike rides, Gary and Duane golfed, Amy and Jasmine and I shopped :-) we went to Paul Bunyuns for breakfast, I read a book and a half, we played several games of uecker and cribbage, Gary didn't even call work!!!! There was also fishing. Jessica and Lydia came up for two days and I have to say Grandpa's highlight of the week was taking Lydia fishing and seeing her catch three fish!!!!!

I have been excitedly getting ready for preschool. I have my classroom all ready except the bulletin boards. Marv made some marvelous props for my room that I am excited about. He'll have to come in some time and see the children put on a puppet show!! This is my last week of class for my first college class. Actually, I only have one assignment left and then I am done. I have really enjoyed the class. My next class starts Aug. 21. That will be an interesting day because it is the first full day I have to be at work and the day ends with a back to school family picnic/open house/parent meeting and then I go to class til 10:00! I am prepared for that, I just hope Gary knows I won't be fixing dinner that night!!!

Hannah leaves in a week and a half. The time went way too fast!! Hopefully the time she's away will go fast too. Speaking of fast, I can't believe Claire is almost a year old!! Wow, where did that time go?

The garden has started to produce. I canned 28 jars of green beans on Monday and picked more today. We've had cucumbers, they are really good, a couple of tomatoes, zucchini and some small carrots. Lydia loves the garden now that there is food in it! She eats green beans right out of the garden, she knows to break the end off, she even eats baby carrots and cherry tomatoes. Today she was over and she put her stuffed animals in a buggy and took them out to "check on the garden" it is so cute and grandpa loves it!

Sue, hope to hear from you and Rob and Claire. Donna, it was good chatting with you today!! Marv and Kitty, have an enjoyable time in MN. I didn't know you got the cell phone, glad to hear it.

I have to say it, I just can't stop myself. This blog has been way too female!! Come on guys!! I know it is new, so I give you some grace but let's hear from you too.

Love and hugs,
Paula

Donna & Gang checking in

Hi everyone!

I'm signed in under Rachels e-mail...I accidently erased the e-mail with the blog's website address...oh well, that's what happens when you are computer-challenged..ha.

Grandma & Grandpa are here arrived today and were able to go to Nicole's last softball game for this season. They ended in a tie...good way to end. It was a pretty successful season overall. I'm happy to be through with my coaching responsibilites and don't foresee signing on as a head coach next year...of course I didn't this year either, and still ended up in that role.

We will post some vacation photos as soon I figure out how to do it. Don't worry Sue, we won't post all 1,100 of them...ok, maybe we went alittle overboard, but a digital camera will do that to a person. Had a wonderful trip, saw tons of animals and such beautiful scenery. Had fun camping too. Can't believe July is almost over, time does fly when 2 weeks of it is spent vacationing. I'll write more later. Hope all are doing well. Donna

Me Again

Hi All,

Just want to tell you about the nice day I had today. I met Bernie in Oshkosh and we went on to met Sis in Cedarburg. We did lots of talking and laughing. The only thing that went wrong is that I was stuck in a 1/2 hour traffic back up around Neenah, on my way to Oshkosh. Then when we got back to Bernie's car at the Outlook Mall in Oshkosh, she had a flat tire on her car. Well, thank goodness I found a nice GENTLEMAN to change it for her.

Gary and Paula, Bernie was telling me about a Falls, North of Eagle River that is really pretty. I think it's called Bond Falls. (It might be in Michigan)

Happy Friday!

Love,
Grandma

Where is Gary???

I was able for the first time in, well, forever, to come home from work early to surprise Paula. I was at one of the other sites this afternoon to do a finance training session for the IT folks, and made the executive decision to quit for the day at 3 PM. My car went to the florist (of all places), and then home. Yeah, I need to log in to my work email and check to see if anyone missed me in the last few hours, but its nice to be home early.

Dave and Donna, any chance to post pictures or notes from your vacation? Sue, pictures of your family (or just Claire)? Dad, how about an update on what you are up to these days?

We are starting to prepare for next week's vacation at a cottage in Eagle River. I can't wait, even if the forecast for Monday is only for 70 degrees.

Grandma Here!

Can you believe I'm the first one to post something?? (Besides Paula) And, I did it all by myself! Opened up the account etc.... This is soooo neat. Thank you Paula.

I did the Apple Creek bike trail today. It's 10 miles and took me 1 hour. On our way home from AZ this Spring, I vowed to ride the trail every day I had a chance. Well, this is the first time I did it. I was back at 9:40 before it got humid.

Tonight (5:30) I play a singles (Rec. League) match at Pierce Park. Dad will ride his bike over a little later and after the match we'll stay for the City Band Concert.

Happy Birthday, Paula

Love Ya,
Grandma

I believe I've got it!

Hey all, I think this might have actually worked! Now, I want to see blogs from everyone this week. Dave and Donna, you could tell us some highlights from your vacation!

We have had a little excitement in the Gary Weber household, we had a bit of flooding in our basement (Hannah's room) early Sat. morn. 2am to be exact. Long story short, the drain at the back corner of our yard overflowed during a short but intense storm and ended up coming in Hannah's window. All in all, it could have been much worse and we are grateful that damage might end up just being some carpet.

Gary and I go on vacation next Saturday, we are renting a cottage in Eagle River. We are looking forward to relaxing, reading, boating, fishing, golfing, shopping, eating, sleeping etc. etc.

Tonight Hannah is cooking Chicken Curry for us for dinner, she learned how to make it in Fiji. I can smell the curry as I type! (one difference, we didn't slaughter the chicken with our bare hands!)

Well, I hope to hear from you all often. Have a great day!

Love and hugs,
Paula

Weber Family Blog

Hi family, I am trying to set up a family blog. Hopefully I can get this to work and we can all keep in touch more often.
